At the sitting of 3 July 2003 the President of Parliament announced that the Committee on
Development and Cooperation had been authorised to draw up an own-initiative report,
pursuant to Rule 163 of the Rules of Procedure, on the New Partnership for Africa's
Development (NEPAD).
The Committee on Development and Cooperation had appointed Jean-Pierre BР№bР№ar
rapporteur at its meeting of 20 February 2003.
It considered the draft report at its meetings of 10 September 2003 and 1 October 2003.
At the latter meeting it adopted the motion for a resolution by 15 votes to 0, with 6
abstentions.
