Managing Water Disasters and Minimizing the Vulnerability of Mozambique to Floods - Minister Roberto White

3.5 DISSEMINATION OF INFORMATION

Once DNA and the ARAs issue the flood warnings, they have to be conveyed in an appropriate manner to the public in general and particularly to the population in endangered areas. This should be the task of the INGC, the Provincial Governments and the Districts Administrations.

INGC should be responsible for the planning and has also the responsability to disseminate information provided by DNA. It is very important that the technical information elaborated by DNA is translated into clear messages for the population and for other agencies involved. How to convey these messages clearly and in good time is a challenge that must be carefully analyzed and solved, creating the conditions required for that until the village level.
