This study was commissioned by the Department of Social Services and Poverty Alleviation of the Western Cape Provincial Administration.
The project commenced on the 1st July 2003 and was completed by April 2004.
The main aim of the study was to develop a socio-economic and demographic profile of social security beneficiaries in twelve selected magisterial districts in the province.
The study was undertaken by Datadesk at the University of Stellenbosch.
