Background and Terms of Reference for the Consultancy on the Formulation of the National Poverty Reduction Strategy

7. Composition of the reference group
 
The Reference Group will be comprised of a total of not more than 17 members from the following ministries, organisations and individuals:
 
  • Under Secretary, Development, Ministry of Local Government
  • Co-ordinator of Rural Development
  • Government statistician
  • Executive Secretary, Botswana Council of Non-Governmental Organisations (BOCONGO)
  • Chief Nutritionist, Ministry of Health
  • Representative, Secretariat of the Vision 2016 Council
  • Director, Macro Economic Planning
  • Representative, Small Business Council
  • Representative, Botswana Women's Coalition
  • Representative, National Youth Council
  • Representative, Botswana Christian Council
  • Representative, National AIDS Co-ordination Agency (NACA)
  • Representative, Botswana Community Based Organisations network (BOCOBONET)
  • Representative, UNDP
  • Representative, Ministry of Education
  • Commissioner of Labour, Ministry of Labour and Home Affairs
  • One district Commissioner
  • One Council Secretary
 
The Chairperson of the reference group will be appointed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance and development Planning from among non-Government membership. The Vice Chairperson will be the Co-ordinator of Rural Development. The secretariat to the National Food Stratedy MonitoringGroup will provide the secretaryship.
 
Note: This tender was awarded in the second half of 2001 to a UNDP-led research team. It will thus only be completed in the firsts half of 2002.
