The Southern Africa Partnerships Programme (SAPP), a programme of Action Aid International (AAI) and the Open Society Initiatives for Southern Africa (OSISA) have jointly launched the Mutapola Campaign. The campaign aims to promote and strengthen the rights of women and girls in this era of HIV and AIDS in Southern Africa.
The four pillars of the Mutapola framework are:
- the right to comprehensive treatment and care
- the right to secure livelihoods (income and assets) and the right to food
- strengthening and building capacity, organisation and activism of women and girls living with HIV and AIDS
- advocacy and campaigning for an enabling and legislative environment on paper and in practice, so that women and girls can claim and exercise their rights.
